How to Choose the Best Ceiling Materials for Your Business

Ceilings can be an often-unnoticed feature of many commercial spaces. While most people may not be able to name the last time they’d seen a “good ceiling”, they can certainly recall at least one time they’ve seen a bad one. We’re here to help make sure your ceiling only adds value to your business!

Par 44 Builders specializes in commercial remodeling, expansion, build-outs, and restoration across the Tampa, Clearwater, and St. Petersburg, Florida areas. Our headquarters is in Largo, Florida. If you’re planning on a commercial remodel and want to replace your ceiling, then here’s a list of some of your options, and the pros and cons of each.

If you’re still not sure, you can always call us at (727) 532-6111 to discuss your project.

Ceiling Styles

Ceilings come in all shapes, sizes, and materials. Before you select which materials are best for your project, it can be a good idea to know which style you may wish to have on display.

A unique ceiling can instantly change the atmosphere of a room or office for the better, whether you want to create the ultimate work environment, express your modern sensibilities, or simply let as much natural light in as you can to liven up the space.

Conventional

The classic, flat ceiling style. This type of ceiling can make a room feel clean and contemporary, and there’s plenty of room to add texturing and other customization as desired.

Tray

This ceiling type includes a central inset about a foot higher than the rest of the ceiling. It adds a lovely sense of openness to any room, and can frame a ceiling fixture beautifully.

Beam

This style features either structural or faux wooden beams running across the ceiling. Beam ceilings can very often inspire images of lovely European cottages and villas.

Coffered

Featured in such places as the Palace of Versailles and Buckingham Palace, this “waffle”-like pattern of indented panels can be a luxurious addition to any business or commercial space.

Exposed

For an industrial appeal, exposed ceilings do not cover any ductwork, wiring, plumbing, or support beams. This style is very popular in trendy, urban spaces.

Vaulted

This style features a high ceiling that usually comes to a point along the slope of the roof. While it may be more expensive to install in commercial buildings without, this style is still beautiful.
